Configure a Notifier
Configure a public HTTPS Notifier target, confirm its Destination Type, choose explicit subscriptions, and save its initial state safely.
Before you start
Act as an Owner or Admin and bring an existing public HTTPS receiver target. This guide continues the Primary operations example from the Owner quickstart. PointWarden does not provide a demo receiver.
Choose and confirm a Destination Type
Open Notifiers, choose Create a Notifier, enter the HTTPS URL, and confirm the type PointWarden detects. The saved target is encrypted and only a redacted form remains visible. For a provider Destination Type, use its official setup guide to create the webhook before you enter the target.
| Destination Type | Target to provide | Webhook setup guide |
|---|---|---|
| Generic | An existing public HTTPS receiver URL you control. | Use your receiver's documentation. |
| Slack | A public HTTPS Slack incoming webhook target. | Slack target guide |
| Discord | A public HTTPS Discord webhook target. | Discord target guide |
| Microsoft Teams | A public HTTPS Microsoft Teams workflow webhook target. | Microsoft Teams target guide |
Choose subscriptions explicitly
Under Operational events, choose Incident opening, Recovery, or both. Under Monitor selection, choose all Monitors or select specific Monitors such as Customer API.
Validate and save
Validate the unsaved draft
Choose Test Notifier after entering the target, confirming its Destination Type, and reviewing subscriptions.
Test Notifier validates the unsaved configuration and public DNS. It does not create the Notifier and does not send a live Test Delivery.
Save the Notifier
Choose Create Notifier. A new Notifier is saved as Unverified and Paused, with the event and Monitor choices you made.
Expected result: Primary operations exists but is not yet eligible for production delivery.
Next, Verify and enable the Notifier. Return to the Notifier overview if you need to compare subscriptions, verification, lifecycle, and Delivery Health first. If a configured Notifier has no receiver Delivery, check the missing-Delivery path.
